Winter Solstice, Lakota's Birthday, Christmas...

Well it's the most wonderful time of the year...

I am sitting here looking out my window at a most beautiful back yard laden with frost.  I am still residing and packing Snake Manor, and I'm ok with it.

I'm getting ready for the holidays... tomorrow is my son's 13 year birthday!

Now & then
13 years old!!! This blows my sox off!  It's hard to believe that I have been a mom for 13 wonderful years!  I love this kid, I never ever in all my youth thought I was going to be a mom, at first I didn't want to be a mom, then I had medical issues that led me to believe that I would not be a mom.  However to my sheer delight and surprise I got pregnant, at the age of 34 I was told I would be someones mom, in just 9 months!  Well the pregnancy was horrible, I was sick, nauseated, bloated, heart burn, rashes (ok the rash was something different) but all in all I hated being pregnant.  Now that does not mean that I was ungrateful, but the whole pregnancy thing is mostly over rated!!  Then came the birthing... OMG!!!  Lord have Mercy n Kill Me Now!!!  I was not prepared for the whole 4 day ordeal that it took to expell this little Angel from my body!!!  Well that being said, I only had 1 kid.... Not that I ever really planned on having him, I mean it was a good surprise... ( but anyways wayyyyy off topic!!!)   Long Story Short... I love my son Lakota, Happy Birthday!!! You make my life a beautiful experience!!!

Merry Christmas!!!  Yup I said Merry Christmas!!  Happy Holidays to those who were offended just then... LMAO!!!  O for the love of long haired dogs people are funny creatures... Just be freakin happy that someone acknowledged you and wished you well and was thinking of your wellbeing over the holidays!!!

You would think with all the crappy things that are going on in this big old planet that well wishing someone would be the least of our concerns????  Anyways... have a good one!!!

 My life in Da Bush…

Ok so there are a couple of things you need to know as you read this:
  1.            I am from a First Nation Community in Saskatchewan Canada.  The housing in our community is owned by the Kawacatoose First Nation Band Council.  I am able to live in the house that I am talking about because I am a band member.  The house does not belong to me, however the habitant of these houses are required to report any problems of the home to the local housing authority, as it is their responsibility for general maintenance, much like a rental agreement.
  2.         Also… so for those of you who know me, I mean really know me, you will be aware that I have a Major phobia of reptiles.  Yep kind of strange facts that I’m letting you all know about me.  I mean I have such a phobia that I am prone to hyperventilating and passing out from fear when I suddenly encounter one such critter.  That being said, my story begins…

Chapter 1               The Move...

Last fall my mom decided that she no longer wanted to live in the house that I had recently renovated for her.  (see “update” blog entry)  Soooo… I said Hey what the hell, I always liked that house!  So we switched houses.  I moved my belongings to the house in the Bush and she moved back to the Ghetto’s of Kawak.  That was in September of 2013…
When I moved to the house I began an unintentional pet rescue mission… I think… To begin with we had a nice lil family of 2 cats (Mooch and Peebs) and 1 crazy Husky (Ms. Meeka)  all of whom were also rescued in some way.  Meeka stayed back at my mom’s house, as she currently resides in the back yard of my mom’s house and apparently loves to chase cars!!!  Thank Goodness there is a fence between her and the cars!  So I decided to leave her there until I could have a proper Fence installed for her safety and my sanity!!
Anyways  the unintentional pet rescue mission…
My sister asked me to take in her cat Jackson, while she looked for a new home.   I did and she (the cat not the sister) promptly got pregnant!!! ( Ugh… sadly shake my head, I am the worst pet sitter ever!) Jackson had 6 kittens! I ended up taking the kittens and the momma cat to a local shelter as it was way out of my capabilities to feed and provide proper care for them.  I realized I was in over my head when the kittens began doing their business where ever they wanted and Jackson began hiding the kittens from me….  It was very stressful.  I tried to find homes for this group but was not successful, never the less I feel as tho I did my best in that situation, It did however cause a ripple in the family, as my nieces were mad at me for letting their cat go.
During this time we also acquired a dog named Happy, we rescued him from a local Gas Station.  Happy became part of our family as my son fell in love with him.  Also living in the bush I needed a dog for a companion to my son, who undoubtedly would be exploring the bush… And so they became a team.  A dog who would be taught not to chase cars!!
When I got settled into the Bush house, It came to my attention that the house had issues.  The furnace broke in January, For 4 nights my son and I endured the cold in -30C  to - 40C  conditions.  All we used for heat sources was the Oven from the kitchen and candles… Lots of extra bedding…  Good thing I had experience living in an unheated RV for over a year in the winter!

Once the furnace was fixed… We resumed life as usual.  It seemed nice, picturesque.  Too nice… I should have known!!! LOL  Next in February, our Sewage became a problem, The line froze and our sewage backed up into the basement.  Not once, Ohhh no, that would be too normal.  7 freakin times!!! Count them 1, 2, 3, 4… 7… Uhhh huh!!!  So we lived from February to April without using the plumbing… I lived as though I did not have plumbing…When I had a bath I baled water, when I did dishes I baled water, when I used the Loo, I did what my cats do… LOL  yup once again like I was in an RV… I used a bucket and cat litter!!!  That stuff does indeed work tho… In case you were wondering!

During the winter my sister lived with me briefly, I and she were able to have some much needed sister bonding times… I think of those peaceful mornings hanging out with my sis listening to music and learning to twerk and I just giggle and shake my head… Love ya Muxxy…
So that was the winter… Good times, good times…

Chapter 2               Spring has Sprung

With the thawing of winter, I yearned to do a Cleanup of the Basement from Hell!  The basement had not been cleaned thoroughly or properly since I moved in the fall.    My mother had yet to finish moving  all her beloved treasures over to her house and my sister had  some items left over from when she was living with me briefly in the winter months including furniture and belongings from her last home… With all the floods and crap there was in the basement I knew it needed a damn good cleaning!!!  Thus I began my daunting task….

Within a week of working on the basement,  it began to rain, and rain, and rain…. So began the flooding… All the things I was compiling and sorting and  going through… all my work, all my cleaning ruined!!!!!  Arghh!!!  I was sooo frustrated!!!  I decided at that point, Fkk it!  I would not do it! I couldn’t!!!  At this point my slip disk in my back was yelling at me to stop anyways… So I stopped my work…

Within days it began molding!!!  Ohhh no, my asthma was acting up!!!  Geez-whizz what next???  This was the final week in June…

In July without any notification or warning a work crew showed up at my home and began to remove mold from my basement… within 2 hours they came and went!

I am grateful they took out the walls, I was not happy for the mess they left tho… All my furniture and belongings were left piled up in the middle of the rooms in my basement. All the Garbage and trash from my work before was also piled with my furniture… All the Gross wet things that were on the floors were now on my couches, on my dressers… My power tools were just tossed anywhere, I found this out when I almost stubbed my toe on my chain saw!!! Shaking my head… My Wooden basement currently has no walls and no insulation as I write this… (today is November 26, 2014)

Chapter  3              Snake Manor

Ok regardless of what you have read about me and this house, I truly and most affectionately came to love this damned old house!  I guess we had been through a lot!  From reviving it with renovations to going through various floods, I became very attached to the house.  I almost, almost reconsidered my notion of living full time in my RV, in favor of putting down roots and building a permanent life in this house…  That being said I continue my tale…

We had a very late fall with the weather temperatures  reaching the high 20’s (ᵒC)  By the end of September I was getting things ready for Halloween, my most favorite holiday ever!  My sister and her children came to visit for a weekend.  I went into the basement to do a load of laundry when I made the most horrific discovery I could make.  I stepped on a small baby SNAKE!!!!  OMG!!!  I thought it was Rubber at first, then I realized that it was dead!!!  I Ran… straight out my door and out to the lawn!!!  I was shaking and terrified!!!  And… On the way out of the house I seen another one!!!!  (know this, as I write this my skin is literally crawling… eeesh..)

Thankfully my sister and her eldest daughter are not as squeamish as I am.  My niece removed the tiny snake bodies (they were about  5 inches long – black with green stripes – garter snakes).  My loving niece (who by the way when she was 5 years old (innocently) tried to kill me by presenting me with a rubber snake as I was in the bathroom having bath, old house in the hood with no locks)was killing herself laughing her butt off!!!  I however failed to see the humor!!!!

My immediate concern was where did they come from?  Did someone leave them there?  Did they get born there?  Were there more?  ( My Brain is screaming - My home has snakes… My home has snakes… My home has snakes… )  My niece and sister go back to the basement to investigate, they bring out a shedded snakeskin approximately 2 ½ feet long…  that means 1 thing… The mama snake is a big bitch!!!  OMFG!!!!  I am freaking out!!!

My sis and niece help me gather some clothes… I go to my mom’s house!!  I call the housing authority; the lady is very nice and concerned also.  She works diligently & calls in an exterminator… Ok I am ok with this…. We can get rid of them… Can’t we??????

NO!!!  Apparently it is not just some little snake hole, it is a hiber-den…   This means that these snakes have been in this area for hundreds of years!!  My house is built on a snake habitat that has been used for hibernation forever!!!  The exterminator said that even if we gassed them, or dug them up that they would still come back.  There is no getting rid of them.

Un-freakin believable!!!  Just my luck!!!???  I think not!

I have not been listening, this…  all of this…. Was the Universe telling me to move on…  But where I dunno…  As I write this I am back in Snake Manor, Day 2…. I figure they are hibernating and we have been getting our usual -20's (ᵒC).   I have decided that I will pack up my house, dispel any of my material possessions that I do not require and hit the road!  As for my pets, they will come along!  I am taking my truck and I am going probably in January or February… I am going before my neighbors wake up!

So that’s it folks… Life in Da Bush…

Bent Touring Again... The Time is NOW!

Ok , Ok ,  so I am gonna do it!!!!

I have been sitting here on the rez, (for those who are not up to my slang, the rez is short for First Nation Reserve or as my southern counterparts call it Native American Reservation)  awaiting the day when I will once again embark on my adventures and travels.

During the last 5 years I have been here abiding my time, I have learned many things.  I was able to develop more skills that will assist me on my adventures.  I know that as I travel it will not be an easy thing to do, leaving friends, family and familiarity, however I long for adventure!  I want to meet more people, learn more about my world, share the adventure with my son!  We are ready!

As for all my critter friends, I figure if a circus can travel with their animals, I can travel with mine!

It's Go time!

Bustin Out

Well I am bustin out this Spring... I am going to get on that open highway and just do.  Enough with the "prepping" I will never have everything completely perfect!  I once hitch-hiked from Regina, Saskatchewan Canada to San Jose California USA, I left with $163.00 in my pocket.  I got home 6 weeks later with stories to tell about people and their generosity, and the miracle giving it all over to the Creator to take care of.

So yup yup yup I am outta here!  I love my life, I love this big house, even though it's now week 5 of the great sewage freeze up!  Yea I have been having issues with the drainage in my home, I was told that there is nothing that can be done until the ground thaws out... I am hoping to be out of here by then.  I will begin with the tires for the RV and just go from there!

Thats all kind of a ranty blog but hey I blogged!

Love

Love

I was very recently consulted on relationship advice... I who have been single for the last ohhhh, say 45 years, was asked for relationship advise.
What would ever give anyone an idea that I may know anything about a relationship???   I mean I have been single for most of my adult life, about 10% of the other time was in casual meaningless relationships.  The closest I have ever come to a committed relationship was when I was in court fighting a custody battle for my son.

When I think of the relationships that have participated in I am always surprised as to why that relationship ever occurred in the first place.

Why Be in a Relationship?  What are the levels of Love?

  1. Lonely - do not know how to be alone.
  2. Horney - in it for the sex
  3. Bored - just doing it out of boredom cause it's too much hassle to break-up (perhaps they hooked up cause of 1 or 2).
  4. Lucky - There are those who are "Lucky in Love", where they were at the right time and right place and met their match, pretty much an idyllic love story - time will tell if it's going anywhere or if it will make it to the 5th level of real relationship status.
  5. Truth - Those who are in a lasting committed life long relationship.  They actually love and enjoy each other's company.
I have to say that the most I can tell anyone is:  "Are you settling?"  This was what one of the guys who I was in a relationship told me.  It sounded very cruel at the time and it was quite the pill to swallow, but it was truth. This was the end of one of my most passionate and powerful relationship experiences I had ever endured.  I realized that yep I was settling.  I could do better for myself, find a more better suited match.  That was 20 years ago, I am still single...

I don't even desire to be in a relationship.  I could care less at this point in my life...  But why? Why am I so effeferesence? that's not even a word, but it seemed to fit...

I think that about sums it up, in a nutshell according to me.  But hey who am I to give relationship advice?  I am just a girl looking for a guy who can help me get something from the top shelf, so  a tall guy.  Then he can go...

My Boy can Dance!!!!

Lakota my son in his Fancy Bustles a few years back...

I took the family out to a Much Dance last night.   I am soooooo proud of my son! He is a strong spirit who lights up when he hears and feels music! My son shines on a dance floor whether it be at a Pow-wow rockin his Fancy Bustles or at a DJ dance bustin his moves to Skrillix or who ever is moving his spirit.

I witnessed the power of positivity and white energy light with my son last night. He was centred out by a group of young men who decided that my boy's dancing was not to their standards, they began jeeriing and pointing and laughing at him. Making fun of him and basically ran him off the dance floor. That was the start of the dance...

My son came and sat down next to me and complained that he wanted to go home. I asked him what happened? he said nothing... I knew he was hurt...

I prayed... and began sending him light in a quiet way...

A few minutes later I asked him if anyone was being cruel to him? he said awww those boys are being bully's again ( they were previous bullies to him at his former school... The same bunch who instilled fear and tormented him all year to the point that he told me that he wanted to kill himself if he had to go back!)

I asked him what do you need to do? He replied " go home" .... I said oh but we just got here? don't you want to dance with me? he laughed and said NO... your my mom! (Ok Ok so I am no longer cool :? )

Then I said well why don't you meditate and re-claim your energy, your letting them capture your spirit!!! So he looked at me and with a level head he said um ok! So he began to meditate (yes my 12 year old son meditates! he has since he was 2)

About 5 minutes later some really fast techno beats began and he jumped up and began to move!!! He began to dance. I watched him nervously, wearily like a mama bear laying low while my cub is in a honey tree ( waiting to save him from an impending swarm!!!) He dances... moving, twisting, stomping, and spinning!!! the song fades into another... he continues... I watch!

About 45 minutes go by he comes and sits every once in a while to catch his breath and get a drink...

Then he goes out again... then a dancer comes and challenges him by trying to imitate his moves, my son spins and kicks a move and does some arm work, the guy backs off... My sis says... He's being challenged!!! I'm like huh????? (at this point I thought he was going to be physically assaulted, I am holding onto my chair to not go out and kick some kids in the butt!!! - my sis says calm down he will be ok!!! Watch him!!!! (I'm old school sometimes ok...)

My Son Lakota Today... still dancing!

So I know I'm aged because I was not aware of this but...I guess there is this thing in the world of techno where dancers challenge and do dance offs... my son got challenged about 20 times that night and each time he was the last guy dancing they all walked off cause they were not able to do his moves...

I'm a proud mama... my boy can really dance!!!!

Happy New Year from Minneapolis!

Well once again we are on the road... well we've been on the road quite a bit since the last post, however I finally remembered to post something on the blog...

We are currently exploring Minneapolis Minnesota. We have been at the Mall of America for the last 2 days enjoying the Indoor amusement park, Coga loves it! He has been on nearly all the major rides, he's discovered he has an inner Coaster fiend... I'm afraid that he has become enthralled with the big Coasters! I know there is no going back now, we will always have our days and memories of riding the choo choo trains and air planes. LOL

Well this new years eve, we will be kicking it on a hill catching some fluff and tubing! I don't know how my back will react to this but I think I'll give it a go anyways...

So to the family who's back at home, Happy New Year! To all the friends who are out and about stay safe and to the future that is upon us, I am hopeful that all our dreams and desires will be fulfilled!

Take Care! and I probably won't post for another 3 or 4 months... LOL

In the City

Well Coga and I are in Regina, for the next couple of weeks. I am staying close to home to be available with any help people need for Batoch, and my late father's Memorial Fiddling Contest.

For those who are unaware, my father passed away on Jan 1, 2009. My family is sponsoring a Memorial Fiddling Contest to celebrate his life and to honor his memory. Dad was a great and avid fiddle player, so many of my fondest memories include the sounds of a fiddle and guitar in the background.

I can re-count many instances where our family was at a gathering or Pow-wow and my old dad would be sitting at the camp site playing his fiddle. Naturally a crowd would gather and of course Dad would have made more friends!

Anyways I am up for a coffee this week if anyone is interested... Thanks and have a Great Day all!

Back to Reality...

The end of a wonderful and well deserved vacation, this last week was truly a great time…
Wednesday
We took it easy and lazed about swimming and watching television for most of the day, later in the day around 5:30 we went down to the beach and hung out around the ocean. Apparently there was a 5.4 Magnitude Earth Quake, we didn’t feel a thing…
Thursday
More beach and hangin out downtown at Coronado City… Grabbed a picnic lunch and had a meal by the ocean. Rented a double seat Tram bike, however it went bad when Coga had an accident and got his foot caught in the spokes! Lesson Learned: Never try to get off a moving vehicle, and always, always listen to mama! More swimming at the hotel, then relaxed and watched a Shrek 3 movie on the big screen at the Hotel… Lowes is a great kid friendly hotel for anyone who is interested in vacationing with children. Coga was actually wishing to go to the “Kids Club” (babysitting service)!
And while I’m sounding off about Lowes I want to give a shout out to Sam & Jessica at the Market Café who are the friendliest and helpful staff members at the hotel! I truly appreciate the way in which they got to know my son and I, and greeted us for breakfast everyday!
And of course I cannot forget “Cory” our first friend here on vacation! I want to say thanks and when you come to Regina, give us a call and we will show you our Canada, from a 1st perspective!
Friday
Wow! So it all begins with us going for our brekkie at the Market Café and then off with Cory to the Ferry landing. We went on the USS Midway Tour! I didn’t think it was possible but it took the whole day! What a huge ship! Wow! There is so much to see! I will post pics in a slide show when I get home as I have no adapter, (opps)…
Then we went to the ferry landing and got some Taco Bell and had a picnic on the beach. Coga made some friends once again and played in the surf! Then back to the room and back to the pool, then off to bed and fly out in the morning…
Saturday
As I write this we are in the Lowes Lobby waiting for our faithful driver Cory to take us to the airport… Then it’s fly out and off to real life… sigh… at least we’ll always have our memories! Coga want’s to come back next year, and next year we’ll know what to expect!
Ok so now I’m on the plane, landing at Regina, guess I’ll be home in a few minutes back to the soil of Southern Saskatchewan… Missed my friends family and pets… Buddy n Mooch…
It’s good to be home… safe n sound…
Wait is there really a Tornado Watch for today????????????????

crazy week

Wow what a hectic week! On Friday July 2, I had a most eventful day.
1. After a whole week of gathering support and building a web site I submitted an appeal for a re-election of our Band’s Chief & Council...
2. Got home and found my bedroom things completely re-located – apparently my lease is up and I am required to move… so my landlady took it upon herself to move all my belongings to my motorhome. Classic scene from any comedy, my landlady is my mom and I’m 41 years old… LOL
3. Then at 5:18 pm a F3 Tornado Raged through my unexpecting little community and devestated nearly all the homes in the Bay at the end of my street. We were fortunate we were unscathed.
4. At 10:18 PM my family fled the impending disaster as we discovered that there were 3 other Tornado’s in the area and an alert was posted, we drove fast to Regina and stayed at my sister’s house.
Saturday July 3 – Regina
On Saturday morning the whole event seemed surreal, I mean you read about disasters abroad or happening to strangers, It never happens to me! So all day I was in a Daze! I ended up meeting my brother’s grandson for the 1st time, he truly is a cutie lil Munroe… I went out and got travel medical insurance, I also got last minute items for my trip… It’s a good thing in my excitement to leave that I was pre-packed what with my room disappearing and the tornado, I would not have had a thing to leave with… hell I couldn’t even find my toothpaste…
Anyways I got to sleep about 10:00 pm and woke up 3 times during the night…
Sunday July 4 – San Diego
We got up at 4:30 am and left the airport at 6:00 am – Got to the Lowes Coronado Resort Spa at 2:00 pm… Long Day, hectic week, we ended up crashing out by 8:00 pm… Not much excitement other than plane turbulence and witnessing Coga’s excitement as the plane took off… He was screaming “Butterflys! Butterflys! Butterflys!” the whole way taking off! When we got to the airport we met Cory a Town car driver who was quite helpful with our adventure! Then when we arrived at the hotel, we hit the pool and then exhausted had a snoring session, completely missing all the Independence Day Celebrations around us…
Monday July 5 – San Diego – Lego Land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The day my son has been waiting for his entire young life… We set out at 7:00 am. Cory the same driver who picked us up from the airport, drove us to Lego Land and picked us up. The whole park is quite amazing, I think we went on only 4 rides, mostly my son enjoyed interacting and playing with the other kids making structures and building stuff… there was racing, and driving cars and being in a Nerf – blaster house where he shot at other guys (anyone who knows him knows this is right up his alley) then there was the WATER PARK!!!! 3 hours at the water park! Totally the best part of the day! And then some more rides and shopping! Exhausting… but totally worth it!
Tuesday July 6 – Tijuanna Mexico!
We left for the pier at 7:15 am and were ½ hour early, so we waited and just hung out! When the bus got there we met our driver Juan and left… Juan told us many things about the Mexican history of Tijuanna and also of the Culture. We went down town and entered a shopping Market place… very high priced for what I expected… Getting through the border was very intimidating…. The Border Officer we spoke to did a thing where he looked at our Passports, swiped them and then seemed to consider them for about 5 minutes. We provided our Treaty Status Cards and he asked what they were? So I informed him and then he asked my son if he spoke his language, so my son told him yes he did, then finally after much scrutiny he let us pass… too stressful!
When we got back from Tijuanna, we went on the Big Splash – Bus/Boat Tour to visit the seals in the San Diego Bay… we were able to see the Marines base and watch the helecopters fly overhead…
Took a ferry ride home and then a taxi back to the resort… Another exhausting day…
Wednesday July 7 – Today…
Sat here and blogged, my son is playing in the room, we are just chillin, probably go out in a bit for a bite to eat then out to tour some things on our 3 day Go Card…
Should be ok…
I will blog more later…

Re-election

Yep tis true, I am stirring the pot, something must be done in my community! We tolerate alot, but that must end, it's time for our people to rise up and say NO MORE!

Meetings and Perdiems, Renovations on Band Council Members Homes while our Elders suffer in unlivable conditions!

Has anyone ever visited my auntie Dorothy? She has raw sewage in her basement, it's been like that for a year! Yet one newly elected band councilman has found it in the budget for New Siding on his home!

What about the roads??? Is it too much to ask that we at least have some fresh gravel?

When are they going to care for us? I have been waiting...
I am done waiting...

The watch dog must be on gaurd! Check out the new website at: www.atim-o-chisk.yolasite.com

I hope we can make an effective change! Creator willing!

I would like to say to you just-ice I hope that you have great success in you future endeavors. Well we (I & my son) are winding down here at the school, and were winding up at home! We are currently getting ready to pull up stakes and travel! Our first destination is San Diego, we will be there by the Fourth of July, just in time for the Independence Day Celebrations that will take place in that great city! Stir Crazy!

Well my contract is almost up, and once again the road is waiting! My son and I are getting ready to head out and up for more adventures.

This has been a long cold winter! There are many places I yearn to see, my little one and I are getting ready for what lays ahead.

I have had people interested in buying the old RV, I have been toying with the idea of selling her, she's a good one! I have been thinking of getting a truck and 5er, I want to put a wood stove in it... I know! I know! it's not possible! Well it was also not possible that a single mom can work and live full time on the road, right?

I believe that if I am meant to do this it will manifest. I also believe that I would not have such a strong compulsion to live life this way, if I was not meant to live life this way...

So in any case I am going back on the road after a long cold winter...

Tribute to Dr. David Ahenakew

I first remember meeting Mr. Ahenakew when I was a little wee girl known as Mrs Chicken. Mr. Ahenakew was my dad's (Sterling Brass) good friend, I mostly remember he and my dad joking and laughing, always teasing one another. I did not know that both Men were warriors of the Native People of Canada. I did not know that they would both change the world we live in. I did not know that they would both spark a new era for First Nations rights and freedoms. To me, little old Mrs. Chicken, Mr. Ahenakew was my dad's friend.

I am sad on this day to know that one of the Great Warriors of the First Nations People of Canada has been laid to rest. I am however compelled to say this, Mr. Ahenakew fought courageously for his people and the things he believed in, and for that I am thankful.

My deepest condolences to the whole Atakakoop First Nation and the Ahenakew Family, I will always and forever cherish those memories from my childhood and I will always be grateful for the many sacrifices that were made by your Okima.
Thank you.

Writing, and more writing

So I have been composing stories for most of my life. As a child I often gave life to adventure in my minds eye! I would always tell tall tales to my family and friends, often feeling quite accomplished for having them believe these stories.
Well this skill, although not every parents dream for their child, finally became useful. I have taken advantage of my over active imagination and have begun drafting a book of my favorite stories. I have included a story about the legend of Big Foot, How the birds pull up the sun and my most cherished stories of my lovable old Gran and her brood.
Now I don't think I'm about to win any Pulitzer or have any offers for major motion pictures, however this book of mine will provide entertainment and giggles for those who read it up.
Anyways I'm not done with the writing but I'm getting warmed up! And as a side bar, has anyone noticed that we finally got our snow in Saskatchwan? All in one shot there were snow banks taller than our house on last Sunday... Whewweee...
